Southwest Chicago Math Teachers’ Circle

We have a great group of professors and middle school teachers who are a part of the Southwest Chicago Math Circle. In order to reach different teachers in the suburbs, we rotate meeting locations between Lewis University, Saint Xavier University, and Trinity Christian University.

This Math Circle provides the opportunity for K-12 grade mathematics teachers and college professors in Chicago’s west and southwest suburbs to collaborate on developing and refining the problem-solving skills of local teachers and students. This community of learners will provide math instructors a supportive network to discuss mathematical and pedagogical issues that arise in the classroom and give teachers support and resources to initiate more student-centered, inquiry-based pedagogies in their classrooms. We also hope this math circle will help teachers rekindle their enjoyment and passion for solving interesting and challenging math problems in a supportive group environment.
