New Math Circle Training & Mentoring Cohort
The 2026 New Math Circle Training & Mentoring Cohort is an opportunity for new Circle leadership teams to jumpstart their planning for a Math Teacher Circle (MTC) or Math Student Circle (MSC) through a series of interactive training webinars and structured planning activities this summer. Each new Circle will also receive a grant of $1500, with an additional $500 per Circle to support an in-person mentor visit. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Shaggy Peak Fund.

Workshop: Developing Regional Networks of Math Teacher Circles
September 11-13, 2026
In person at the American Institute of Mathematics, Pasadena, CA
Organized by Nathan Borchelt, Sloan Despeaux, and Brianna Donaldson
This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, will be devoted to equipping Math Teacher Circle (MTC) leaders to establish or reestablish MTC networks in their state or region. Workshop activities will include hands-on MTC sessions, information-sharing sessions focused on the nuts and bolts of regional MTCs (including vision and activities, recruitment, funding, and sustainability), and networking sessions. Participants will leave the workshop with a “business plan” for their network, including actionable next steps.
Funding is available to participate in the workshop. Applications are open to all current MTC leaders, with preference given to teams of two or three leaders from the same region, and to leaders of regional MTC networks that struggled during COVID and are now looking to restart.

Toolkit Teams
Small collaborative groups that will develop toolkits addressing significant needs of the network. Team members receive a stipend of $1000 plus a $1000 grant for their Math Circle. The 2024 deadline for this program has passed. Learn more...
