MathAmigos is a group of community partners, mathematicians, and leaders in the Santa Fe Public Schools dedicated to improving teachers abilities to understand and teach math. Our goal is to help every student excel in math which is critical for the 21st century workplace. We are also showing teachers, kids, and parents that math can be exciting through our workshops and Math Family Nights.

We have offered 12 professional development workshops for teachers at Cesar Chavez, El Camino Real, Nino Otero, Ramirez Thomas, and Sweeney Elementary Schools. The workshops are based on discovery, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning – every response is a chance to learn. New and exciting teaching techniques that can immediately be used will be learned. Our experienced teacher coaches will visit the classrooms of interested teachers after each workshop just to help teachers, not to evaluate.  We have also offered several Math Family Nights.
