CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: JMM 2022

Deadline September 21, 2021

The SIGMAA on Math Circles for Students and Teachers is hosting a Special Session at JMM 2022 in Seattle, Washington, January 5th-8th.

Session Title: Math Circle Outreach Activities that Engage Diverse Audiences
During this session, presenters will share ideas for math outreach activities that can appeal to diverse audiences, including members of underrepresented groups or members of the general public who do not already know that they love mathematics. These activities could be designed for inclusion in Math Circles, festivals, summer programs, schools, after-school programs, or outreach in public spaces. Unique venues for some activities may be necessary to reach certain audiences.

While some tips on reaching diverse audiences may be included, the focus of these talks will be engaging topics that welcome newcomers to the world of mathematics.

  • All presentations are 20 minutes.
  • Submit your abstracts here.
  • The Abstract submission deadline is September 21, 2021.

All are welcome to submit an abstract, you don’t need to be an MAA member.
