As a way to kick-start the school year, we will have two days of math sessions led by Juan Molina from Austin Community College.
Juan will lead us into exploring estimations using simple but interesting questions. Many times, working with estimations require to have a good understanding of the problem at hand. Mathematics plays an important role in estimating real life questions that can be otherwise hard to measure.
He will also explain the foundations of modular arithmetic and its practical applications. From the clock arithmetic to security and even the mayan. calendar, we will explore these surprising implementations.
