Rational Tangles: Zoom Edition

See how knots, movement and fractions intertwine in Conway’s Rational Tangles!  While typically done in person, this popular activity has been adapted to remote facilitation for a pandemic world.

Presented by Dr. Tien Chih, who has been a Math Circler since graduate school, and while Assistant Professor of Mathematics at MSU-Billings, has run a student Circle for 4 years.  He’s an advocate of math outreach, inquiry learning, and student research.

Please bring the following supplies: a paper plate, 4  binder clips, two ropes/strings and pen/markers to mark up the plate.
