This activity lets students understand the formulae for the area of a circle, and the volumes of pyramids, cylinders, cones, spheres, plus higher dimensional analogs.

The warm-up hand out points students in the right way. The hand-out is a bit more advanced
and points to some spherical geometry. This activity can be followed with more exploration
of spherical geometry leading to an interesting proof of Euler's formula.

The Curvature and Euler Characteristic activity is a natural follow-up.
