Philadelphia Area Math Teachers' Circle

Welcome to the website of the Philadelphia Area Math Teachers' Circle (PAMTC)! We are a group of teachers, mathematicians, and math education researchers, bringing an MTC to the Philadelphia area! MTCs are like "book groups" for middle grades (approx. grades 5-9) math teachers; at MTC workshops and meetings, we use a collaborative problem-solving model--that is, we all work together to discuss, debate, interrogate, and solve challenging, fun math puzzles. These puzzles are NOT your routine math problems; but do not be intimidated: all that is required to participate is a healthy dose of curiosity, good humor, and a willingness to interrogate! MTCs are also great networking opportunities, and of course, we always hope to provide great food!
